00:00 / 03:44

Prepare our hearts, O God, help us to receive
break the hard and stony ground, help our unbelief
Plant your Word down deep in us, cause it to bear fruit
Open up our ears to hear;  lead us in your truth

Show us Christ, show us Christ
O God, reveal your glory through the preaching of your Word
until every heart confesses Christ is Lord

Your Word is living light upon our darkened eyes
guards us through temptations, makes the simple wise
Your Word is food for famished ones, freedom for the slave
riches for the needy soul; come speak to us today

Where else can we go, Lord? Where else can we go?
You have the words of eternal life...

Call to Worship: Psalm 67:3-5 Jon Sherrill

Praise to Our Risen King

"Here I Am to Worship"  (Hillsong Music)

           Lyrics in video

Declaration of Trust & God's Greeting

People of Jesus Christ, in whom are you trusting?

Our help is in the name of the Lord, who made heaven and earth.

Grace, mercy and peace to you

in the name of the father, and the Son and the Holy Spirit

"Crown Him with Many Crowns"  (The Hymns Project)

            Lyrics in video

Let's sing this song as our Call to Confession today...

Time of Confession
Call to Confession  "Jesus, I Come" (Indelible Grace Music)

Prayer of Confession

Almighty God,

you have called us to be the church,

to continue the mission of Jesus Christ to our lonely and confused world.

Yet we acknowledge we are more apathetic than active, isolated than involved,

callous than compassionate, obstinate than obedient, legalistic than loving.

Forgive us. [silence]

Holy God,

we are your children and yet blind to the state of our own hearts.

We don’t actively hunger and thirst after holiness.

We plead with you to save us from our lukewarmness – and from the fact

that we don’t even realize how tepid and nominal our faith is.

Forgive us. [silence]

Merciful God,

we fail to listen to your Spirit and word that warn us from self-sufficiency.

We repent for seeking after affluence and comfort,

which keep us from fully giving you our love and passionate attention.

Forgive us. [silence]

Gracious Lord,

have mercy upon us, reformat our hearts,

forgive our foolishness and inattentiveness

for the sake of Jesus Christ, our Lord.

May the activities of each of our days bring glory to you alone. Amen.

Words of Assurance  (1 Peter 1:18-19)

For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold

that you were redeemed from the empty way of life

handed down to you from your ancestors,

but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect.

Know that Christ has set you free, and be at peace.

 Sharing Christ's Peace

Because God has given us his peace, we are invited to share the peace of Christ with others. Whether digitally through a text message or by turning to someone next to you, share the peace of Christ now with the words: "The peace of Christ be with you!" If you are on the receiving end of these words, you are invited to reply, "And also with you."

The Peace of Christ be with you.

          And also with you!

A life of generosity, for all who know Christ, means the opportunity to draw closer to God, now and in eternity. It means joy, a fulfilled heart, and the potential to store up treasures in heaven. Once you take hold of it, once you begin to feel the change generosity brings into your life, you will feel a strong calling to share the message with others.

Benediction (unison)

And now, to Jesus Christ, who loves us

and freed us from our sins by his blood

and made us to be a kingdom,

priests of his God and Father,

to him be glory and dominion forever and ever.
