Call to Worship (from "Our World Belongs to God")

From the beginning,

through all the crises of our times,

until the kingdom fully comes,

God keeps covenant forever:

Our world belongs to God!

God is King:

Let the earth be glad!

Christ is victor:

his rule has begun!

The Spirit is at work:

creation is renewed!

Praise the Lord!

Praise to Our Risen King

"Praise to the Lord, the Almighty" (Tony Alonso)

                          Lyrics below

Praise to the Lord! The Almighty, the King of creation
O my soul praise him for he is your health and salvation
All you who hear now to his temple draw near
praise him in glad adoration!

Praise to the Lord!  Who o’er all things is wondrously reigning
and as on wings of an eagle, uplifting, sustaining
Have you not seen all you have needed has been
led by his gracious ordaining

Praise to the Lord! Who will prosper your work and defend you
Surely his goodness and mercy shall daily attend you
Ponder anew what the Almighty can do
who with his love does befriend you

Praise to the Lord! O let all that is in me adore him
All that has life and breath come now with praises before him
Let the amen sound from his people again
gladly with praise we adore him

Declaration of Trust & God's Greeting

People of Jesus Christ, in whom are you trusting?

Our help is in the name of the Lord, who made heaven and earth.

Grace, mercy and peace to you

in the name of the father, and the Son and the Holy Spirit

"Is He Worthy"  (Andrew Peterson)

              (lyrics below)

Do you feel the world is broken? (We do)
Do you feel the shadows deepen? (We do)
But do you know that all the dark won't stop

the light from getting through? (We do)
Do you wish that you could see it all made new? (We do)

Is all creation groaning? (It is)
Is a new creation coming? (It is)
Is the glory of the Lord to be the light within our midst? (It is)
Is it good that we remind ourselves of this? (It is)

Is anyone worthy, is anyone whole?
Is anyone able to break the seal and open the scroll?
The Lion of Judah who conquered the grave
He is David's Root and the Lamb who died to ransom the slave
Is He worthy? Is He worthy of all blessing and honor and glory?
Is He worthy of this?  (He is)

Does the Father truly love us? (He does)
Does the Spirit move among us? (He does)
And does Jesus our Messiah hold forever those he loves?  (He does)
Does our God intend to dwell again with us? (He does)

Is anyone worthy? Is anyone whole?
Is anyone able to break the seal and open the scroll?
The Lion of Judah who conquered the grave
He is David's Root and the Lamb who died to ransom the slave

From ev'ry people and tribe - every nation and tongue
He has made us a kingdom and priests to God to reign with the Son
Is He worthy? Is He worthy of all blessing and honor and glory?
Is He worthy ? Is He worthy?
Is He worthy of this? (He is)

Is He worthy? Is He worthy? (He is)
He is!

Time of Confession
Call to Confession Psalm 139, selected

You have searched me, LORD, and you know me.
You know when I sit and when I rise;
you perceive my thoughts from afar.
You discern my going out and my lying down;
you are familiar with all my ways.

Before a word is on my tongue

you, LORD, know it completely.

If I say, “Surely the darkness will hide me
and the light become night around me,”
even the darkness will not be dark to you;
the night will shine like the day,
for darkness is as light to you.

Search me, God, and know my heart;
test me and know my anxious thoughts.
See if there is any offensive way in me,
and lead me in the way everlasting.

Prayer of Confession

Taking pieces of this Psalm, read each and reflect on the state of your heart

and share it with God in confession.

"You have searched me, LORD, and you know me."  [silence]

"Before a word is on my tongue you, LORD, know it completely."  [silence]

"Even the darkness will not be dark to you"  [silence]

"Test me and know my anxious thoughts."  [silence]

"Lead me in the way everlasting"  [silence]

I pray in the name of the Lord God, who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty.” Amen.

Words of Assurance Isaiah 1:18

“Come now, let us settle the matter,” says the Lord.
“Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow;
though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool.

"O the Blood of Jesus"  (Selah)

You are invited to reflect on the power of the blood of Jesus as you listen...

 Sharing Christ's Peace

Because God has given us his peace, we are invited to share the peace of Christ with others. Whether digitally through a text message or by turning to someone next to you, share the peace of Christ now with the words: "The peace of Christ be with you!" If you are on the receiving end of these words, you are invited to reply, "And also with you."

The Peace of Christ be with you.

          And also with you!

A life of generosity, for all who know Christ, means the opportunity to draw closer to God, now and in eternity. It means joy, a fulfilled heart, and the potential to store up treasures in heaven. Once you take hold of it, once you begin to feel the change generosity brings into your life, you will feel a strong calling to share the message with others.
